Installation process
The setup process for the Govee RGBICWW light bars offers some flexibility, as you can mount the bars vertically or have them stand freely on your desk. This is a fantastic option for customizing your lighting layout, whether you're looking for accent lights for your gaming rig or ambient light for your workspace.
However, the cable management is less than ideal. The two light bars are connected by a single cable, which limits your placement options and can make the setup process unnecessarily tricky. A more modular design with independent cabling would have greatly improved usability.
Build Quality
The build quality of the light bars leaves something to be desired. Made entirely of plastic, they feel lightweight and somewhat flimsy. While this makes them easy to move around, small gaps in the construction slightly detract from their overall finish. For the price, it’s fair to expect a more refined build.

The physical dock included with the light bars offers convenient, straightforward control. It’s an excellent backup for quick adjustments without needing to open the app or use voice commands.
The desktop app is where the Govee RGBICWW lights start to show their potential. While the features are adequate, the app doesn’t go above and beyond, especially compared to other premium lighting brands. Connectivity to platforms like Razer Chroma and Alexa is a standout feature, making the lights a solid choice for gamers and smart home enthusiasts. However, the integration could use some polish to feel truly seamless.

The intuitive interface and extensive tools allow users to create a personalized ambiance with ease.
