1. Desktop cleaning
The first step to achieving a clean and minimalistic setup is decluttering your workspace. Start by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting “Hide desktop icons” to remove any visual clutter. Next, eliminate any unnecessary bloatware from the taskbar by accessing the taskbar settings. Finally, center the taskbar to create a more dock-like appearance, which enhances the overall aesthetic of your desktop. These adjustments will provide a fresh and organized environment, setting the stage for further customization.
2. Chose Frosted Glass Wallpaper from Wallpaper Engine
To set the perfect background, open Wallpaper Engine and search for a frosted glass-style wallpaper. This wallpaper will give your desktop a unique and calming atmosphere by creating a frosted window effect with its background blur. The soft visuals not only enhance the aesthetic but also contribute to a relaxing workspace, making it an ideal choice for your minimalistic setup.
3. Rainmeter installation
Now we come to the essential step in this customization process: installing Rainmeter. This application is incredibly easy to set up and opens the door to a variety of powerful plugins that can significantly enhance and personalize your desktop. With Rainmeter, you can implement features and designs that simply aren’t achievable with standard Windows settings. 3. Install Drop top 4
For our first plugin, we’ll install Drop Top 4, which significantly enhances your desktop’s functionality. This plugin provides easy access to essential features like your files, the weather, and more, all neatly organized into a sleek, clean-looking bar. With Drop Top 4, you can streamline your workflow while maintaining a minimalistic aesthetic, making it a perfect addition to your frosted glass-style setup. The setup is also rather simple just install it and follow the installation guide. Then just chose what you nee on the top bar and what not.
4. Use TransluentTB for Taskbar Customization
As the next application we chose TranslucentTB from the Microsoft Store. With this app you can customize your taskbar’s appearance. This app allows you to completely remove the background of your taskbar, seamlessly integrating it with the frosted glass aesthetic of your desktop. By making your taskbar transparent, you’ll enhance the minimalistic look and feel of your setup, contributing to a clean and modern workspace.
5. Get the Mond skin for a nice desktop clock
To add more character to your desktop, install the popular Mond plugin, which allows you to place a professional-looking clock and a media player on your home screen. This plugin integrates seamlessly with Rainmeter, making it easy to enhance your desktop’s functionality while maintaining its sleek aesthetic. With the Mond plugin, you can effortlessly keep track of time and control your media, all while fitting perfectly into your frosted glass setup.
6. Install the Monterey skin for widgets
To complete this setup, we’ll install widgets that feature a frosted window design. These widgets are straightforward to install and enhance your productivity by providing quick access to essential information such as system stats and your calendar directly on your home screen. With this addition, you can seamlessly monitor your system performance and stay organized, all while maintaining the aesthetic of your unique frosted glass desktop.
